Brad Pitt, the 61-year-old Hollywood icon, shared a close and meaningful relationship with his mother, Jane Etta Pitt. Throughout his career, she was a constant presence in his life, often accompanying him to high-profile events and being a source of support and inspiration.

From an early stage in his acting journey, Brad spoke openly about his parents, highlighting their values and influence on his life. During a press junket, he mentioned that while his parents weren’t strict, they placed a strong emphasis on family integrity. When asked if they were happy with his decision to pursue acting, he humorously noted that they only became supportive once he actually landed a job. “They didn’t know about it ’til I got a job,” he said with a smile.

Over the years, Jane developed a deep appreciation for her son’s professional achievements. She proudly joined him at the New York City premiere of “The Devil’s Own” in 1996 and was by his side during the premiere of “Unbroken” in 2014. Her presence at these events showed how much she valued her son’s work and success.

In 2020, Jane celebrated her milestone 80th birthday, with Brad reportedly offering his Santa Barbara mansion as a venue for a family gathering. The Oscar winner arranged for a private jet to transport his parents and provided the keys to his property in Goleta. His niece, Sydney Pitt, shared photos from the celebration online, including images of the family in matching outfits at the beach. She wrote a heartfelt message: “To the best Grammy around, happy 80th. Couldn’t love you more!”

Just a month before her passing, Brad gave a sweet shoutout to his mother on the “Today” show. He told Savannah Guthrie, “I gotta say hi to my mom ’cause she watches you every morning.” He then added, “To Jane Pitt,” before blowing a big kiss in her direction. “Love you, mom.”

It remains unclear whether Jane had been unwell at the time of her death, but her granddaughter, Sydney, confirmed her passing via Instagram. She shared throwback photos and a heartfelt caption, writing, “My sweet Grammy, Jane Etta, we were not ready for you to go yet but knowing you are finally free to sing, dance, and paint again makes it a tad easier.”

Sydney described her grandmother as someone with a big heart who cared deeply for everyone and everything. She shared how Jane taught her important life lessons, such as painting, leading with kindness, and finding joy in small things. “She made up the silliest games just to make us laugh, and she believed in fairness, in putting others first, and doing good simply because it was the right thing to do.”

Sydney concluded her post by expressing how blessed they were to have her in their lives, adding, “We were truly blessed to have her to love on growing up and I know she lives on through each of us.”

Despite the loss, Brad has not yet issued an official statement regarding his mother’s passing.
