Lainey Wilson, the 33-year-old country music star, has recently shared details about her upcoming wedding with fiancé Devlin "Duck" Hodges. The couple officially announced their engagement in February 2025, marking a significant milestone in their relationship. While they are still in the early stages of planning, Wilson is already looking forward to the next steps, starting with finding the perfect wedding dress.

Wilson recently spoke with HAWXTECH about her latest venture, the Lainey Wilson Jewelry Collection. She mentioned that while she has already secured her wedding jewelry, the first step in the process will be visiting a bridal boutique. “I need to go dress shopping or I need to talk to somebody about making a dress,” she said. “I need to go get fitted. How about that? That's the first step.”

She expressed hope that Hodges will be emotional when he sees her in the gown. “I'm excited to just step outside of the box and see what happens,” Wilson shared. “So hopefully when he sees me, he'll be boohooing.” This sentiment reflects the deep connection between the couple, as Hodges has been a constant source of support for Wilson throughout her career and personal life.

The proposal itself was a memorable moment. Hodges surprised Wilson with a diamond ring inside a mini cowboy hat-shaped box, which will soon be featured in her new jewelry brand. “Man, I tell you what, trying to wrangle me in is, it's a lot,” Wilson admitted. “But I will say even the hat box situation, he proposed to me with the little hat box, and so just being able to do that and also at the same time be celebrating our engagement and our love, it feels good.”

Despite the excitement surrounding the wedding, the couple is taking things at their own pace. “Although the pair are 'trying to get into the planning stages,' they're not in a rush,” Wilson explained. “We got some time, but I figured, you know what? I hadn't worn a dress for him yet, and I guess that would be the day to do it.”

Back in March, during an appearance on The Kelleigh Bannen Show, Wilson addressed whether she would wear her signature bell-bottoms at her wedding. “I’m going to wear a dress,” she said. “I hadn’t done the whole dress shopping. We haven’t even picked a date or anything like that. We got some time, but I figured, you know what? I hadn't worn a dress for him yet, and I guess that would be the day to do it.”

In a previous exclusive interview with HAWXTECH, Wilson and Hodges revealed the one rule that keeps their relationship strong. “You have to definitely carve out the time,” Wilson said. “It has to be something that you're very aware of, and you're like, 'Okay, I've got a day off here in 10 days. I've got to dedicate that day to spend time with my person.'” She added, “And we both need that and deserve that, and it's always great. We just try to soak up those moments as best as we possibly can.”

As the couple continues to plan their big day, their commitment to each other remains evident. Hodges, who has always been her “biggest cheerleader,” is expected to play a central role in the wedding festivities. Wilson described him as the place she gets to call home, emphasizing the deep bond they share.

With the wedding still a few months away, Wilson is focused on making the most of this special time. From selecting the perfect dress to ensuring every detail is just right, she is determined to create a memorable celebration that honors their love and partnership.
