New Aldi Stores Launch in Florida This August – See Locations

Florida Aldi Expansion Continues with Multiple New Store Openings
Florida is experiencing a wave of new Aldi store openings, continuing the discount grocery chain's aggressive expansion across the state. The company has announced at least four new locations set to open in August, with additional stores scheduled for July and more planned throughout 2025. This marks a significant step in Aldi’s strategy to increase its presence in the United States.
Recent and Upcoming Store Openings
Several new Aldi locations are already making their debut in Florida. In July, stores opened in Port Orange and St. Cloud on July 31, while others such as Odessa, Crawfordville, Jensen Beach, and Westlake also saw their doors open earlier in the month. These locations include former Winn-Dixie sites, part of a broader trend of conversions that have been ongoing since Aldi acquired the parent company of Winn-Dixie and Harvey’s Supermarket.
In addition to these recent openings, there are plans for more locations to come in the coming months. The following stores will open in August:
- Bushnell: Walker Ridge Square, 1122 North Main Street (August 14)
- Jacksonville: Briarwood Village Place, 8775 Old Kings Road South (August 28)
- Lehigh Acres: Winn-Dixie Shopping Center, 61 Bell Boulevard North (August 14)
- Tampa: Main Street at Hampton Lakes, 13016 Race Track Road (August 28)
These openings are just the beginning of what is expected to be a major expansion. According to Aldi’s website and news reports, there are at least 13 more locations coming soon in Florida, many of which are former Winn-Dixie stores.
Future Plans for Aldi in Florida
Aldi has ambitious plans for the future, with a goal of opening 225 new store locations in the United States in 2025—the most they've ever opened in a single year. By the end of 2028, the company aims to have 800 new stores nationwide. Many of these locations are conversions of former Winn-Dixie and Harvey’s Supermarket sites, although Aldi recently sold most of those back to a private investor group.
Some of the upcoming locations include:
- Aventura: Promenade Shops, 20417 Biscayne Boulevard
- Deerfield Beach: Crossroads Shopping Center, 2301 W Sample Road, Building #2
- Englewood: 4100 South McCall Road

What to Expect at Aldi Stores
Aldi is known for its no-frills approach, offering a limited selection of products with a focus on house brands and exclusive deals. Unlike traditional supermarkets, Aldi does not have a meat counter, deli, pharmacy, bakery, or liquor store. Shoppers are encouraged to bag their own groceries using empty boxes from the store or personal containers. A quarter is required to rent a shopping cart, which can be returned for a refund.
The company offers a "Twice is Nice" guarantee on its store brand products, ensuring customers can get their money back if they are not satisfied. Weekly or seasonal "FINDS" provide limited-time discounts on select items, and there are no membership programs or coupons.
About Aldi
Founded by Karl and Theo Albrecht in 1946, Aldi was originally known as "Albrecht Diskont." The company split into two separate entities, Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd, in 1960 after a disagreement over whether to sell cigarettes. U.S. operations are managed by Aldi Süd, while Aldi Nord owns Trader Joe’s.
Aldi made headlines in 2024 when it acquired Southeastern Grocers Inc., the parent company of Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarkets. However, it later sold most of the acquired stores back to a private investor group. Despite this, Aldi continues to convert existing locations, focusing on expanding its footprint in key markets like Florida.
