Rare bourbons available in summer PLCB lottery, including $7,500 Weller Millennium

Pennsylvania’s Whiskey Lottery Returns for 2025
Whiskey enthusiasts, collectors, and those hoping to flip rare bottles have another chance to participate in a highly anticipated event. The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board has launched its summer 2025 limited-release lottery, offering eligible residents and licensees the opportunity to purchase some of the most exclusive bourbons and whiskeys in the country.
Registration for the lottery opened on Monday and will remain active until 5 p.m. on Friday, August 8. Winners will be notified during the week of August 11, with updates following for both successful and unsuccessful participants.
This year’s lottery includes nine different categories, each with a limit of one bottle per household per drawing. Participants can choose to enter any or all of the lotteries through the Fine Wine & Good Spirits website. It's important to note that the prize is not a free bottle, but rather the chance to purchase one at the listed price.

The Weller Millennium Straight Bourbon stands out as one of the most expensive items in the lottery, with a price tag of nearly $7,500. Its high cost makes it a sought-after prize for collectors and resellers alike.
How to Enter the Lottery
To register, participants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Pennsylvania resident or licensee, at least 21 years old
- Have a Fine Wine & Good Spirits account with a verified Pennsylvania billing address
- Have an active credit card on file
- Choose a pickup location at a FW&GS store during registration
Each household is allowed only one entry per lottery. If selected, payment is automatically processed. If the payment fails, the participant forfeits the bottle and has no second chances. Winners must present a valid photo ID and email receipt when picking up their bottle in person — no proxies are allowed.
A Collector’s Dream or a Reseller’s Opportunity?
These lotteries often attract thousands of entries for just a few bottles, especially for rare or high-priced items. While some participants see this as a collector’s dream, others view it as a potential jackpot for reselling. However, it’s important to note that reselling any lottery-bought bottle without a license is illegal in Pennsylvania.
Don’t Miss Your Chance
With registration closing at 5 p.m. on August 8, participants should act quickly. Once the deadline passes, no changes or updates will be allowed. Any errors in payment or account information could result in losing the opportunity entirely.
For more details, including full terms and information about each bottle, visit the Fine Wine & Good Spirits website. Whether you’re a whiskey lover or a savvy collector, this is your chance to secure a piece of bourbon history. Good luck — may the odds be ever in your favor.
