Meet Banks: A Loyal and Loving Companion in Search of a Forever Home

Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE), a dedicated foster-based dog rescue organization located in Massachusetts, is excited to introduce you to Banks, a 2-year-old mixed breed dog who has been patiently waiting for his forever home. Since coming into GDRNE’s care, Banks has been living with a loving foster family, where he has flourished and shown off his wonderful personality. However, despite his positive experiences, he has been waiting for adoption for at least seven months. Given that the most recent weight update on his profile was recorded in November, it's likely that he has been waiting even longer than that.

Banks is a mix of a Dogo Argentino and a Bulldog, weighing approximately 45 pounds. He is described by his foster family as "a very handsome and happy-go-lucky boy" with an outgoing and super friendly personality. His unique speckled coat and adorable ears make him stand out, but it's his perpetual smile and joyful demeanor that truly capture hearts. As one of his caregivers puts it, "It's impossible to be sad with Banks by your side. Just look at his pictures—he’s always smiling!"

Banks has proven himself to be highly social, forming bonds with people of all ages. He especially loves being around children, making him an ideal companion for families with kids. "Banks loves people and makes friends everywhere he goes, especially when there are kids around," says GDRNE. His friendly nature extends to other animals as well, as he gets along great with other dogs, whether they're playing outdoors or going on sniffaris. Additionally, he enjoys car rides and is known to be a great co-pilot, often enjoying his favorite pup cups during the journey.

In terms of training, Banks is housebroken, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. For active families, he would make an excellent companion, as he thrives on adventure and physical activity. He would do best in households that enjoy outdoor pursuits and can keep up with his energy levels.

About Great Dog Rescue New England

Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, shelterless, all-breed rescue group based in Massachusetts. The organization relies entirely on volunteers throughout New England who are passionate about helping dogs escape homelessness. Unlike traditional shelters, GDRNE does not have a physical location; instead, all of their rescue dogs receive care in nurturing foster homes until they find their forever families.

As a nonprofit organization, GDRNE operates solely through donations and the dedication of its volunteers. Their mission is to meet the individual needs of each dog and ensure proper placement in a loving home. To support this goal, the organization donates money to spay and neuter clinics in the South, engages in community outreach, and adopts dogs to agencies that train them to assist the physically disabled and hearing-impaired.

How to Adopt from GDRNE

If you're interested in adopting one of GDRNE's loving rescues, the first step is to complete the adoption application. All adopters must be at least 24 years old and reside in New England, New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania. It's important to note that GDRNE does not place dogs as emotional support animals or as service/guide dogs.
