Several major brands have recently announced significant leadership changes, signaling a shift in strategy and direction across the fashion and retail sectors. These updates highlight the importance of experienced executives who can navigate the complexities of modern commerce.
Stella McCartney Appoints New CEO
Stella McCartney, known for its commitment to ethical luxury, has appointed Tom Mendenhall as its new chief executive officer. Mendenhall previously held key roles at Ralph Lauren, where he served as brand president for Polo and Double RL. He also spent over 18 years working with Tom Ford and Domenico De Sole, serving as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Tom Ford, as well as worldwide director of merchandising at Gucci. His extensive background in high-end fashion positions him well to lead the brand into the future.
Asos Names New Executive Vice President
British fashion e-retailer Asos has appointed Ben Blake as executive vice president, customer and commercial. In this newly created role, Blake will report directly to José Antonio Ramos and oversee global commercial and trading, customer operations, Asos Media Group (AMG), and customer care. With experience in digital and consumer brands, Blake brings expertise in performance marketing, brand strategy, product innovation, pricing, partnerships, and trading. He joins Asos from World of Books, where he served as chief commercial officer, and previously held senior global roles at Expedia Group.
Dollar Tree Promotes Key Leader
Discount variety chain Dollar Tree has promoted Brent Beebe to the position of chief merchandising officer, effective April 2026. He will succeed Rick McNeely, who is retiring after more than a decade at the company. Beebe joined Dollar Tree in 2020 and currently serves as senior vice president of merchandising and marketing. He will join the executive leadership team and work closely with McNeely for the next eight months to ensure a smooth transition.
Dick's Sporting Goods Updates Foot Locker Leadership
Sporting goods retailer Dick's Sporting Goods, now the parent company of Foot Locker, has shared an updated leadership structure. Executive chairman Ed Stack will lead the global Foot Locker businesses with two presidents—one for North America and one for international. Former Nike executive Ann Freeman has been named president of Foot Locker North America, while a president for the international division is yet to be announced.
Peter Scaturro has been appointed as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Foot Locker North America. He previously served as SVP of strategic planning and growth for Foot Locker and has held several leadership roles across corporate finance, strategy, and customer service at the company.
Several other executives will make the switch to Foot Locker. Michael Keinath will join as senior vice president, chief people officer, alongside Steve Miller as senior vice president, chief operating officer. Denise Karkos, Dick's e-commerce chief, will become the general manager of Champs Sports.
Two long-time Foot Locker veterans have received updated titles. Tony Aversa has been named senior vice president and general manager of Foot Locker and Kids Foot Locker North America, while George Jenkins has been appointed senior vice president, store operations and customer experience of Foot Locker North America. Brett O'Brien, chief sports officer at PepsiCo, has joined Foot Locker as senior vice president, chief marketing officer.
Etsy Expands Role of Chief Technology Officer
Online marketplace platform Etsy has expanded the responsibilities of its current chief technology officer, Rafe Colburn, to include oversight of the product and engineering organizations for the Etsy marketplace. Before joining Etsy as chief technology officer, Colburn served as chief product and technology officer at Depop, where he drove the vision for Depop's end-to-end user experience and product organization.
Colburn will continue to report to Kruti Patel Goyal, Etsy's president and chief growth officer. This move comes following the departure of the current chief product officer, Nick Daniel, who will remain in an advisory capacity until October.
Cart.com Appoints New Chief Revenue Officer
Houston-based commerce solutions provider Cart.com has named Gregg Zegras as chief revenue officer. With over 20 years of industry experience, Zegras most recently served as president of global e-commerce at Pitney Bowes. He will oversee the company’s unified sales team across its two businesses—commerce solutions and logistics solutions—and report to Cart.com founder and CEO, Omair Tariq.
