Top Gainers Today: Nvidia, Tesla, Texas Instruments, Oracle, CoreWeave, Gemini Space Station, and More

Market Movements and Key Developments
Stocks experienced a positive trend on Monday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite reaching record highs. Investors were closely watching for potential interest rate decisions from the Federal Reserve this week, while also following ongoing trade negotiations between the U.S. and China.
Notable Stock Performances
Nvidia saw little change in its stock price after an initial drop during the session. A preliminary investigation by China’s market regulator found that the company had violated antimonopoly laws. While further investigations are planned, this development could significantly impact Nvidia's operations in China, especially considering the existing restrictions on selling advanced products in the country.
Texas Instruments fell by 2.4%, and Analog Devices dropped slightly by 0.1%. This decline followed an anti-dumping investigation launched by China into certain U.S.-made analog chips, which are produced by both companies.
Tesla shares rose by 3.6% after CEO Elon Musk disclosed the purchase of 2.6 million shares worth approximately $1 billion. This marked the first time since 2020 that Musk has bought Tesla stock. The company closed at $395.94, the highest close since January 31. Over the past week, Tesla's stock gained nearly 13%, closing higher for seven out of the last eight trading days.
Oracle increased by 3.4% following comments from former President Donald Trump about a potential agreement involving TikTok. Investors speculated that Oracle might be involved in any deal, which contributed to the stock's rise. Oracle's performance was particularly strong, with a weekly increase of almost 26%, the best in 26 years, driven by a significant increase in its backlog of contracted work.
CoreWeave saw a 7.6% increase after revealing a $6.3 billion cloud-computing deal with Nvidia. Under the terms of the agreement, Nvidia is obligated to purchase any unsold cloud-computing capacity through April 13, 2032, if CoreWeave’s data centers aren't fully utilized by its own customers. This deal was initially signed in April 2023.
Warner Bros. Discovery gained 3.2% after experiencing a sharp rise in value. Shares jumped 17% on Friday and 56% over the previous week, marking the stock’s best weekly performance. This surge came after reports indicated that Paramount Skydance was preparing a takeover bid backed by the Ellison family.
Gemini Space Station rose by 1.6% to $32.52 after a strong debut on Friday. The stock opened at $32 and reached as high as $45.89 during its first trading session. The initial public offering (IPO) of the crypto brokerage, run by twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, was priced at $28 per share.
Via Transportation, known for its Citymapper app, increased by 3.1% to $51.05. The stock opened at $44 on Friday, below its IPO price of $46, but ended the session up 7.6% at $49.51.
Corteva declined by 5.7% after reports suggested the agriculture company was considering a breakup that would separate its seed and pesticide businesses into two distinct entities. The company may announce its plans soon.
Western Digital climbed by 4.8% to $102.39, hitting a record closing high. The gains followed a letter sent to customers announcing a gradual price increase on all hard drives due to "unprecedented demand."
Alaska Air Group fell by 6.7% after the airline revised its third-quarter earnings guidance downward. Profits were expected to come in at the low end of its forecast, affected by higher-than-expected fuel costs and operational challenges.
Upcoming Earnings Reports
Several major companies are set to release their earnings reports later in the week, including FedEx, Lennar, Ferguson Enterprises, General Mills, Bullish, Darden Restaurants, FactSet Research Systems, and Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. These reports will provide further insights into the financial health of these firms and could influence market trends.
