Over the past decade, Unimatic has become a favorite among watch enthusiasts for its unique blend of ultra-minimalist design and robust construction. The brand’s latest offering, the Unimatic Italian Alps Collection, continues this tradition while introducing fresh styling elements inspired by the natural beauty of northern Italy. This new line also features one of Unimatic’s most innovative developments to date.

Italian stallions

The Italian Alps Collection consists of four distinct watches — two models with two color variations each. While they differ slightly in style and mechanisms, they share several key characteristics. For instance, the dial colors are Alpine Sky, a vibrant blue reminiscent of the mountain skies, and Glacier White, an icy light blue that captures the essence of the region’s glaciers.

Beyond just color, the straps also reflect the inspiration from the Italian countryside. Each model comes with a fumo deer leather two-piece quick-release strap, made from a soft, tanned material. Both models feature 316L stainless steel dials and reliable quartz VH31A movements.

Mountain time

It is important to note that these models are based on existing Unimatic designs. The larger of the two, measuring 41.5 millimeters in diameter, is the Modello Uno, the brand’s first ever model. The second, smaller option is the Modello Cinque, which embodies a more contemporary, minimalist aesthetic.

The Modello Uno is a diver's watch, featuring a rotating bezel, a more substantial case, and a protected crown. In contrast, the Modello Cinque is designed more like a dress watch, with no bezel and a sleeker profile.

One notable feature of both models is the inclusion of Unimatic’s new Unilight dial markers. Unlike previous models, these markers are hand-applied and have a 3D luminous effect that rises above the dial. As described by the brand, this adds "sculptural depth by day and a vivid glow by night."

Both watches also include Unimatic’s proprietary anti-shock housing and offer a 300-meter water resistance rating. Only 300 units of each model and colorway have been produced, resulting in a total of 1,200 pieces across the entire collection.
